Why do Lebanese people hate us, even though we saved them from Israel?

"Saved them"... isn't it a bit like a gangsters "protect" a business by having it "share" its profits with them and the gangsters tell the business exactly what to do, and if it doesn't, they kill Rafeek Al-Hariri? (wait, what was my metaphor again?)
